On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleasured to invite you to the XVI Brazilian Congress on Computational Intelligence – XVI Congresso Brasileiro de Inteligência Computacional (CBIC), which will take place at Salvador, Bahia, from October 8 to 11, 2023.

CBIC 2023 aims to provide a high-level international forum for scientists, researchers, engineers, professionals, and educators to disseminate their latest research results and discuss future perspectives in computational intelligence. CBIC is organized every two years by the Brazilian Society of Computational Intelligence (SBIC – Sociedade Brasileira de Inteligência Computacional).

On the first day, October 8th, the Brazilian Computational Intelligence School (Escola Brasileira de Inteligência Computacional - EBIC) will happen. Experienced researchers will give short courses on hot topics related to Machine Learning and Computational intelligence.

  • Evolutionary, swarm, and nature-inspired algorithms: evolutionary algorithms,evolutionary multi-objective optimization, estimation of distribution algorithms, artificial immune systems, swarm intelligence, collective intelligence, evolvable hardware, bio-inspired methods, etc
  • Neural and machine learning systems: artificial neural networks, deep learning, machine
    learning, molecular and quantum computing, complex networks, reinforcement learning, etc.
  • Fuzzy and stochastic systems: fuzzy systems, fuzzy control, and decision making,
    uncertainty analysis, rough sets, fractals, multi-agent systems, game theory, etc.
  • Special Sessions on Data Science Applications and Industry 4.0.


Contest of Theses and Dissertations in Computational Intelligence


You are also invited to submit your D.Sc. Thesis or your M.Sc. Dissertation to the CBIC23 Contest of Theses and Dissertations (CTD).

The selected works will be accepted as a CBIC23 contribution and will be presented at the conference for final evaluation and awarding
